No. 10 Creighton (5-0) put away a ranked opponent in its quarterfinal game at the Maui Jim Maui Invitational in Lahaina, Hawaii, and draws a second straight ranked foe on Tuesday. The Bluejays will face No. 9 Arkansas (4-0) at the Lahaina Civic Center with the winner advancing to Wednesday’s championship game. Creighton has played in the last two NCAA tournaments, reaching the Sweet 16 in 2021, and is 281-137 in its 13th season under coach Greg McDermott. The Razorbacks have gone to the Elite Eight each of the last two seasons, with coach Eric Musselman boasting a 77-28 record since arriving in 2019.

Creighton had trouble getting on track in the first half and was tied with No. 21 Texas Tech at the half. But a 21-10 opening in the second half put the Bluejays in the driver’s seat and the Red Raiders never got closer than eight points the rest of the way in a 76-65 win. Arthur Kaluma led Creighton with 18 points, Trey Alexander added 17 and Baylor Scheierman finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
In the second quarterfinal, Arkansas pulled away in the second half to blow out winless Louisville 80-54. Anthony Black went for 26 points on 9-of-11 shooting and handed out six assists in the win. Ricky Council IV added 15 points and four steals.
Tuesday’s game is just the second between the Bluejays and Razorbacks and the first in nearly 60 years. Arkansas picked up a 73-61 win on Dec. 29, 1962.
